How the awards work

  • ALL nominees will be recognised and celebrated at our Awards Ceremony in May 2026

  • ONE recipient will be selected from each category by our independent selection panel


What makes a strong nomination?

Past recipients have been recognised for:

  • Running community programs that support vulnerable people

  • Coaching junior sport while maintaining facilities and mentoring youth

  • Volunteering consistently in local organisation

  • Achieving sporting/artistic excellence while giving back through coaching or mentoring

  • Starting initiatives that brought community together

  • Going above and beyond their role to help others

Remember: Your nominee doesn’t have to be famous – we celebrate everyday people doing extraordinary things!

  • Nominations open:             1 December 2025

  • Nominations close:             1 February 2026

  • Closed Council Meeting:    25 March 2026

  • Recipients notified:             April 2026

  • Awards Presentation:         23 May 2026

**From all Volunteer Service Award nominees, one outstanding volunteer will be selected for:

  • Volunteer of the Year Award

  • Young Volunteer of the Year Award (30 years and under)
